Trainspotting

Last night we had a bonfire on the beach with friends. What a relaxing way to spend the evening. Nice fire, nice sunset, nice wine. One of the highlights of the evening is a hobo. A hobo you say? Yes, a hobo. The trains often stop at North Beach to let other trains get past a certain point where there is only one set of tracks. When one of the trains stopped, a guy got off and asked us for some beer. He had been riding the rails since the east coast and was coming to see some friends in Seattle. We didn't have any beer to offer but did send him on his way with a screw top bottle of white wine! Good times, good times.

The Sunset Baby

My New Camera

I just got myself a flashy new digital camera and I thought I would show off one of the first pictures from it. This is my new pond that C and I put in this summer. We dug the hole (C did most of the digging) and got it all set up ourselves. I know you are jealous of the delightful sound of the water flowing. The beaver in the corner is from my brother for my birthday.

Big Texan Success!

This is what I am talking about people! Thanks for the suggestion Cas! I think we will be making a stop on our way threw Amarillo at the Big Texan Steak House. It looks like just the sort of place I like to visit in foreign lands like Texas. And what better way to make my dad proud, seeing as how he was born in Texas and all. Does anyone else have any good ideas like Cas? If you want to check out their web site and read all about it, here is is: http://www.bigtexan.com/index.htm

On the Road Again

Like I mentioned before, we are getting ready for our big trip to OKC and will be driving. It is all planned out as to what we are going to do along the way with our homeys, but we still haven't planned our route or stops for the way back. I have been doing a little research but haven't been able to come up with anything that is lighting my fire. If you know of any cool stops along the route, let me know. The route will probably consist of Northern Texas (Amarillo by Morning), threw New Mexico and Arizona, and then up threw Cali. Let me know if there is something I can't miss along the way.

By the by, last night I made a great recipe for scallops with cooked carrots and bacon. If you are interested in trying it, I'll give you the recipe. I had to make it up. I was trying to replicate a recipe from Campagne.

Also, look for a survey in the mail or at your desk if you're in my office. Fill it out and send it back to me. You can win prizes.
